Community Networks Aotearoa

Community Networks Aotearoa (formerly the New Zealand Council of Social Services) is the national umbrella organisation for local Councils of Social Services (COSS’s), Community Houses, REAPS and other social service networks throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

  •  We use our collective voice for policy action, social change and community empowerment.
  • We recognise that by working together, we can more effectively support local communities and member organisations to achieve social well-being.

What we do to reduce inequality

We work collectively with both community organisations and social service government funded organisations to help and assist with their work in the regions in New Zealand.

Our priority is to ensure that information reaches these groups about issues in society at large and specifically ideological stances of government, and how those translate into work with vulnerable people, at the coal face.

We work collaboratively with other umbrella organisations on projects that enable consultation and advise with a overarching belief in social justice and a civil society.

Helpful support to our action could be…

Work with us and support our current work with the Equality Network. Spread the message that inequality in our nation is one of the drivers leading to poverty, illness and deprivation.  Our nation deserves better.
