Closing the Gap: The Income Equality Project

More equal societies are better for all. There is much research (Wilkinson and Pickett et al) that clearly shows that countries with much less income inequality than ours have much better social, health and economic situations.

We are a web-based organisation with over a thousand active supporters and  well developed website facebook and twitter sites. Our aim is to inform as many people as possible that the high levels of income inequality that exist in New Zealand are bad for everyone. Then we should be able to persuade a majority if not all of our community leaders/decision-makers (business community, civic leaders and politicians) that by significantly reducing income inequality we will have a better country for us all.

What we do to reduce inequality

Promote the concept that  high levels of income inequality have been proven to damage social, health and economic conditions.
